I am using this forum to share my observations of how people positively interact with and help other people along with square, round and line dancing opportunties in Ohio. We can be intentional in our efforts to positvely impact others. Looking for and sharing observations of such positive efforts will cause me and hopefully others to be more intentional in this way.

On November 24 and 25 I was blessed with teaching and leading dance to about 650 elementary students at Barrington Elementary in Upper Arlington Schools. The physical education and music teachers worked together to schedule classes in grades 1-5 in 12 different sessions over the two days.
It was a learning experience for me to teach and lead dance for this age without their families present. I was quite apprec...Read Full Post »

On November 8, 2014, I called a square dance and led some line and round dancing for a church social gathering in a barn near South Charleston, Ohio. We had up to five squares dancing with all ages present. I especially appreciated the enthusiasm of the high school and young adult dancers.
Being in this area brings back memories of a summer 1982 internship I served with the Landmark Seed Plant. That summer included spending a lot of time hanging out with a friend I made...Read Full Post »

In late September 2014, I called a community square dance near Wapakoneta, Ohio. It started off with a great potluck meal. It was held in a new barn and the concrete had just been poured earlier that week.
There was a great turnout that included over 3 hours of dancing time with the group. I learned part way through there was a couple there for whom I called square dances at their wedding reception 11 years ago near Wilmington, Ohio. What a great surprise!

Many dances I call/lead are part of a special occasion. On May 6, 2014, I was privileged to help Grove City High School celebrate 30 years of its high school German Exchange program with Max Planck Gymnasium in Heidenheim, Germany. It was also the welcome party for the German students visiting in this year's program. Over 100 people including students, parents, school officials, and various elected off...Read Full Post »
