Here is a listing of hoedown (traditional) square, round and line dance opportunities I provided to members of the Square, Round and Line Dancing in Ohio group on Facebook. Check back since sometimes I learn about dances after this is first posted. I am supplementing this community on my web site to accomodate people not on Facebook. You are welcome to join my site to fully participate in this evolving community. You are welcome to invite others to join the group on Facebook and my site!


July 6, 9:00 PM-12:00 PM - Harrison County Fair Square Dance in Livestock Show Barn, Cadiz (Dan Kirk calling) - Fair Website

 

July 6, 8:00-11:00 PM - Martinsburg Square Dances with live music- Martinsburg Activity Center 1/4 mile west of Martinsburg on Rt. 62. Cost is $5 at the door and food and drinks are available. Summer Schedule will be June 1, July 6 and August 17


July 6 - 7:00-10:00 PM - Liberty Barn Dance (Square Dance with live music by the Back Porch Swing Band and calling by Tom McConahay) at Malabar Farm State Park, 4050 Bromfield Road. Lucas, OH

 

July 9, 8:00-10:00 PM - Northside Square Dance - Bring your feet and musical instruments! Join the dancers on the floor or the old-time band onstage! Tom McConahay of North Carolina, calls old-time squares for new-time dancers. All dances taught; no dance experience required. Beer-drinkers welcome. $5 donation to caller. July 13, 7:00-10:00 PM - Franklin County Fair Barn Dance (Square, Round, Line) in Community Tent, Hilliard - (John Wargowsky calling) - Fair website


July 13  8:00-11:00 PM - Round and square dance music provided by the Hand Picked Band with Gary Woods calling the square dances. There will be cake walks, door prizes and the kitchen will be open with sandwiches and drinks. $5.00 - Tunnel Hill Community Center, 112 E Maple St, Stone Creek, OH

 

July 13, 7:00-10:00 PM - Line, Round & Square Dance - Olivedale Senior Center, Lancaster - Details 

 

July 13, 8:00-11:00 PM (instruction at 7:30 PM) - Wayne County Rural Youth Square and Line Dance with live music - Wayne County Fairground Pavilion, 199 Vanover Street, Wooster, Ohio 44691 - www.waynecountyruralyouth.org/


July 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20  - Join the Pleasant Valley Boys for square dancing each night (9pm) in the pavilion at the Perry County Fair.
